HOW TO USE MY BINS
HOW TO USE MY BINS

Wentworth Shire Council is introducing a new 3-bin kerbside collection service to help reduce landfill, recover valuable resources and meet NSW requirements for food and garden organics recycling.

Have questions about the new 3-bin collection service?

Come along to a community information session to learn how the new service will work, what goes in each bin and when households will receive their new bins.

What households will receive

Before the new service begins, households will receive:

  • A new 240L lime green-lid food and garden waste bin
  • A new 240L yellow-lid recycling bin
  • A kitchen caddy for collecting food scraps in the kitchen
  • An annual supply of council-approved compostable liners
  • An information pack including:
    • Collection calendar
    • What goes in each bin guides
    • Information about the new 3-bin system

Keeping your existing general waste bin

Residents will continue using their existing general waste bin.

As part of the delivery program, the collection contractor will place a sticker on the lid of the bin to provide a quick guide to what belongs in general waste.

Delivery and launch

All bins and supporting materials will be delivered to households before the new service begins.

More information about collection days and service commencement dates will be provided closer to launch.

Wentworth Shire Council has received funding through the NSW EPA Go FOGO grant program to support the rollout of the new service, including community education and engagement activities to help residents prepare for the change.
