Please don’t bin them. Bring them to your local recycling centre
Keep our garbage truck drivers and sorters safe
Gas bottles, cylinders and butane cannisters are considered problem waste and they cannot go into any of your kerbside bins.
These items are known to cause serious harm to the people involved in transferring or processing the waste material as well as causing fires, can explode and other preventable disasters. This is why these items cannot go into any of your kerbside bins.
All gas bottles and butane cannisters must be dropped off at designated transfer stations or community recycling centre so they can be recycled and disposed of correctly, without harming people, wildlife and the environment.
When recycled correctly, Problem Waste is turned into reuseable materials which can then be used in new products.
Plus, it helps to protect natural resources and eliminate toxic materials ending up in landfill.
